If Chow Kit is Gotham City then this slummish back lane is Arkham Asylum.I took a shot at these eerie-looking buildings from where I stayed when I was on an official trip to KL last month.
Although old and crumbling-like structure, its residents I assumed enjoy a simple kampung life here.A few of them I noted wore batik sarongs all day long. But this was my pot shots at their daily lives. It could be the other way.Imagine this:
At the road opposite this slum area was jammed with cars, buses and mat rempit zig zagging their way to work. And at the back just 50 meters away, you see a man wearing sarong walking slowly with an empty pail. (Going to the river, sir?).
I could not help but counted Astro’s satellite dishes that looked like giant mushrooms on rooftops.8 were visible but I suspected a lot more from a different angle.
On one side of the streets,4 or 5 workers were busy unloading cardboxes and bundles of yesterdays forgotten news from pickups– to be soaked in water from below.Below, could be waste water from the area.Cheap.A brilliant recycling business in process.
It was a memorable morning that day.Batman was still snoring in Wayne Manor, somewhere.
